About the position

AECOM is actively seeking an experienced Equipment Operator IV for immediate employment. This position can be based anywhere in the United States; however, it will require 100% travel to various client sites in Latham, NY, Albuquerque, NM, or Mechanicsburg, PA, and others as required. The role is part of an environmental construction team setting, where the operator will be responsible for operating heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. The heavy equipment may include trucks, front-end loaders, dozers, graders, rollers, compactors, excavators, scrapers, skid steers, and other pieces of equipment. The operator will also be expected to perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the projects undertaken by AECOM.

Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
  • Work as part of an environmental construction team.
  • Travel to various client sites across the United States as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED and 6+ years of industry experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training.
  • Valid US Driver's License to operate an AECOM provided vehicle for travel to various project sites.
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Physically able to work in outdoor environments with uneven terrain and variable outdoor conditions.

Nice-to-haves

  • 10+ years of industry experience.
  • 8-hour Annual HAZWOPER Refresher training.
  • 10-hour OSHA Construction Outreach training.
  • Experience in site stabilization, MCP, dredging, construction oversight, PCB's landfill capping, and demolition.
