About the position
The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy machinery to excavate, backfill, and grade land in preparation for various civil and erosion control construction projects across the nation. This role requires extensive travel and the ability to lead crews in remote areas, ensuring adherence to engineering designs and effective communication with sub vendors on site.
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, and backhoes.
- Lead crews in remote areas across the country.
- Adhere to engineering designs and be proficient with blueprints.
- Maintain inventory of equipment and supplies.
- Communicate effectively with sub vendors on site.
Requirements
- Experience in operating heavy construction equipment.
- Ability to lead crews in remote areas.
- Proficiency in reading and adhering to engineering designs and blueprints.
- 5-10+ years' experience working in the oil and gas industry.
- 10+ years' experience in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Ability to pass DOT requirements.
- Ability to travel extensively, sometimes for months at a time.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in the pipeline/oil and gas/petroleum industry.
- Experience in an engineering/design construction capacity for pipeline projects.
- NCCER certification.
- Veriforce certification.
