About the position
Waste Connections is seeking a safety-conscious Heavy Equipment Operator to join their team at the Fountain Landfill in Fountain, Colorado. This full-time position offers a competitive pay rate of $24 per hour, with opportunities for overtime. The role involves operating heavy machinery to manage waste effectively while adhering to safety protocols and providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
- Spreading and compacting trash using a compactor
- Spreading daily cover using a dozer
- Excavating soil using an excavator
- Maintaining haul roads using a grader
- Hauling soil
- Working in a fast-paced, team environment
- Following safe operating practices
- Learning and using interpersonal skills relating to good customer service
Requirements
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in English
- 2 years of experience preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects over 60 pounds
