About the position
The Heavy Equipment Service Manager is responsible for overseeing the service department of a long-standing heavy equipment company in North Houston. This role focuses on ensuring customer satisfaction through effective service processes, managing department goals and budgets, and developing business with existing and new customers. The Service Manager will also be involved in scheduling and assigning jobs to employees based on their skills and knowledge, while maintaining a family-friendly atmosphere within the company.
Responsibilities
- Develops, communicates, enforces, and monitors effective Service Department processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction
- Manages department goals and budgets
- Develops business with existing and new customers through promotional programs, customer visits, and networking
- Submits all service warranty paperwork and claims on time
- Schedules and assigns jobs and work areas to employees in the Service Department according to their skills and knowledge
Requirements
- Technical school certificate or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a service department working as a technician
- Previous management or shop foreman experience is strongly preferred
- Ability to lead and manage employees
- Solid parts and machinery knowledge
- Excellent customer service and selling skills
