About the position
The Heavy Haul Driver at Valfair Construction Inc. is responsible for the safe and effective transportation of heavy excavation equipment across various job sites in the Southeast US. This role requires experience in oversize and over-dimensional haul trucking, ensuring load securement, and adhering to permitted routes while implementing safe driving practices. The position involves significant time spent on the road, with a schedule of three weeks on the road followed by one week of home time.
Responsibilities
- Transport and deliver heavy excavation equipment safely to various job sites.
- Ensure load securement and compliance with permitted routes.
- Implement safe driving principles and practices during transportation.
- Execute safety measures during loading and unloading maneuvers.
- Utilize different types of trailers including RGN, Step-Desk, Flatbed, and Lowboy trailers.
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A license.
- Must pass DOT physical examination.
- Ability to frequently reach, bend, walk, etc.
- Lifting capability of up to 50-60 lbs.
- Dependable at arriving to work on-time and when scheduled.
