About the position
The Heavy Industrial Operator position at Aerotek involves setting up, running, and troubleshooting machinery used in the processing of titanium revert and creating blends for EB/Plasma melting. The role requires adherence to safety protocols, effective communication, and participation in continuous improvement initiatives. Operators will work on various equipment, assist with maintenance, and ensure a clean and efficient work environment while meeting production requirements.
Responsibilities
- Set up, run, and troubleshoot machinery used to process titanium revert.
- Assist with maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment as needed.
- Operate forklifts, front-end loaders, and other equipment to transport supplies and materials.
- Perform clean-up operations in all areas of the facility.
- Complete work assignments in accordance with production requirements.
- Become proficient on all necessary functions of mobile computers.
- Accurately complete shop floor data paperwork for assigned operations.
- Train in fire prevention and firefighting techniques for titanium fires.
- Communicate necessary information to relief employees regarding equipment and safety concerns.
- Evaluate work area and equipment at the start and end of shifts to ensure safety.
- Participate in safety policies and procedures while performing job functions.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area to meet productivity requirements.
- Communicate safety, quality, or equipment concerns to management.
- Cross-train in other cells/operations as needed.
- Participate in continuous improvement programs and provide suggestions for process improvements.
Requirements
- Read a tape measure.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Focus on safety of self and others.
- Forklift experience is helpful.
- Experience in a heavy manufacturing environment is ideal.

- Troubleshooting skills.
- Machine setup experience.
- Experience with Sheer Press and Press Brake Machine Operation.
- Welding and Metal Fabrication skills.
