The Heavy Maintenance Technical Representative is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of aircraft maintenance and repair at the heavy maintenance provider facility. This role serves as a liaison between various management levels and the heavy maintenance provider, ensuring compliance with SkyWest standards and documentation requirements. The representative will monitor and inspect maintenance projects, assist in training personnel, and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.

  • Serve as liaison between the Heavy Maintenance Provider and various managers including Heavy Maintenance Contracts, Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Reliability.
  • Ensure that aircraft being inspected and repaired meet the highest quality standards for SkyWest.
  • Verify that all paperwork provided to the SGU records department regarding the aircraft is complete and accurate.
  • Monitor and inspect the progress and quality of heavy maintenance projects.
  • Assist with the interpretation and implementation of SkyWest standard practices.
  • Ensure that all documentation required by SkyWest is completed accurately.
  • Review paperwork frequently to ensure discrepancies and corrective actions are documented correctly.
  • Perform Airworthiness Release Authorization and RII functions for completed aircraft.
  • Assist with the training of heavy maintenance personnel.
  • Assist with the receiving inspection of parts provisioning.
  • Must hold a valid A&P Certificate 14 CFR 121.378.
  • Must currently hold the position of Level III Mechanic.
  • Experience in the supervision of personnel is required.
  • Familiarity with SkyWest Airlines maintenance standard practice policy and procedures is necessary.
  • Extensive knowledge of SkyWest MIP is required.
  • Experience with SkyTrack is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SP 7650, Maintenance Recording requirements is necessary.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Must have a valid unrestricted driver's license.
  • RII authorization is preferred.
  • Receiving Authorization is preferred.
  • Airworthiness Release Authorization is preferred.
