About the position

The Hedge Fund Product Manager is responsible for overseeing the product development and management of hedge funds offered to Private Banking and Consumer clients at Citi. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure compliance, manage product launches, and provide ongoing support for existing products. The Product Manager acts as a subject matter expert, facilitating communication between internal teams and external partners while ensuring that all product offerings meet regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage the product development process from creation to launch.
• Work with the research team, legal, and third-party managers to finalize legal agreements.
• Partner with departments such as Legal, Tax, Risk, and Compliance for product structure design.
• Ensure fund offerings comply with regional regulations including MAS filing, AIFMD, CISA, RDR, PRIIPs, MiFID II, and US Volcker Rule.
• Prepare intranet product pages and launch templates; coordinate with IT for document uploads.
• Organize launch announcements and training calls.
• Manage activities related to product launch and operations, including training for Supervisory Principals.
• Track and report sales and revenue.
• Act as the internal repository of product knowledge and support the sales team with updated documents.
• Manage relationships with external investment managers and hedge fund service providers.
• Coordinate product modifications and communicate changes across departments.
• Oversee client reporting processes and resolve implementation issues.
• Conduct periodic reviews of products with control functions to ensure compliance.
• Provide presale and after-sales support for custom accounts.

Requirements

• 6-10 years of relevant experience in Hedge Funds.
• Experience managing across multi-function and/or global business.
• Functional experience in marketing, credit, acquisitions, product development, or analytics.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes.
• Ability to work unsupervised and adjust priorities quickly.
• Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Working knowledge of alternative investments, particularly hedge funds.
• 5+ years of experience in product management, product development, or similar roles in financial services.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with diplomacy and clarity.
• Knowledge of fund offering documents and agreements.
• Broad understanding of regulatory, taxation, and compliance issues related to alternative investments.
