About the position

The HEDIS Medical Record Analyst is a temporary role focused on retrieving, abstracting, and reviewing medical records to capture essential data elements for HEDIS reporting. This position is designed for individuals with experience in medical records and clinical settings, contributing to the mission of making healthcare easier and improving lives.

Responsibilities

  • Collect assigned medical records from EMR/EHR systems and prepare them for medical record abstraction.
  • Document retrieval progress/findings for each EMR accessed.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with provider offices.
  • Review assigned medical records to abstract specified clinical data elements for HEDIS reporting.
  • Document abstraction findings on appropriate paper and/or electronic tools as directed by the HEDIS MR Team.
  • Communicate additional pursuit strategies to other team members as defined in the department's policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • HEDIS Medical Record experience highly preferred.
  • Associate degree in Nursing or related field and 3 years of experience in a clinical setting.
  • Experience working with medical records and/or EMR/EHR systems or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated command of medical terminology, navigating EMR/EHR systems, medical record documentation, and clinical processes.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products desirable.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations.
  • Knowledge of ICD-9 and 10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and DRG coding conventions a plus.
  • Knowledge of FACETS a plus.
  • Experience with quality oversight and teaching desired.
  • Prior experience in HEDIS and medical record retrieval and/or abstraction for quality or research projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Valid Registered Nursing (RN/LVN/LPN) certification preferred.
  • CPC - Certified Professional Coder certification preferred.
  • CCS - Certified Coding Specialist certification preferred.

Benefits

  • Base pay range of $42.00-$50.00 an hour DOE.
  • Work from home within WA, OR, ID, UT.
