About the position

CareGivers Home Care is seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our team as Personal Care Aides (PCA). This position is ideal for certified home health aides (HHA) or certified nursing assistants (CNA) who are looking for a flexible work schedule while making a meaningful impact in the lives of our clients. As a PCA, you will provide essential personal care services to veterans in their homes, ensuring they feel safe, clean, and comfortable. Your responsibilities will include assisting clients with daily activities, preparing meals, tidying their living spaces, and ensuring they adhere to their medication schedules. This role is not just about providing care; it’s about building relationships and enhancing the quality of life for those you serve. The position offers a flexible schedule, allowing you to work as little as one shift a week or as many as you desire, with current availability of about 16 hours per week. As new VA clients are added regularly, there is potential for increased hours. You will be compensated at a competitive hourly rate of $19.25 for VA casework, and mileage will be reimbursed for errands and shopping for clients. Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care services to clients, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, grooming, and dressing.
  • Prepare meals and learn new recipes to cater to clients' dietary needs.
  • Maintain a tidy living environment for clients to promote health and safety.
  • Ensure clients follow their medication schedules and assist with reminders.
  • Run errands and shop for clients as needed, with mileage reimbursed.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and their families to understand their needs.

Requirements

  • Must be a certified Personal Care Aide (PCA), Home Health Aide (HHA), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
  • Must be caring, dependable, and meet health requirements.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Reliable vehicle and valid driver's license required for transportation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in home care or personal care services.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new recipes and meal preparation.
  • Previous experience working with veterans or elderly clients.
