About the position

The Helpdesk Administrator at IES Communications is responsible for providing exceptional client support and resolving technical issues efficiently. This on-site role in Tempe, AZ, requires the administrator to manage server and domain changes, troubleshoot hardware, and maintain network operations under the guidance of the IT Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain basic network operations, including assembly of network hardware.
  • Provide first and second level telephone support and problem resolution.
  • Install and test necessary software and hardware.
  • Support hardware including Dell and Cisco servers, Lenovo and Dell desktops and laptops, HP printers, and Cisco network equipment.
  • Read or listen to client problems and collect necessary information to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Install, upgrade, and configure network printing, directory structures, and security rights.
  • Identify opportunities to improve support processes.
  • Respond to user needs and questions concerning their access to network resources.
  • Follow strict privacy policies and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Monitor system backups and ensure company phone systems and computers are operational.
  • Occasional travel to support remote sites as required.
  • Provide remote support after hours when necessary.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's Degree in IT field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of IT experience in a Windows environment.
  • Technical certifications such as MCP, A+, MOUS, MCDST, or CCNA preferred.
  • Understanding of networking operating systems, Active Directory, TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, and remote communications.
  • Knowledge of Windows servers, network equipment, personal computers, and other IT hardware.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Windows 10; basic PowerShell experience preferred.
