About the position

The Hematology/Oncology Physician at Washington Permanente Medical Group (WPMG) will provide comprehensive care to patients in a collaborative, multi-specialty environment. This role emphasizes patient-centered care without the barriers of traditional healthcare systems, allowing for meaningful interactions with patients and colleagues. The physician will work within a supportive team, focusing on both clinical responsibilities and opportunities for professional development, while maintaining a healthy work-life balance.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive hematology and oncology care to patients.
• Collaborate with colleagues and specialists to formulate effective treatment plans.
• Participate in shared call rotation covering inpatient responsibilities at one hospital.
• Ensure adequate patient-physician face-to-face time by managing clinic schedules effectively.
• Engage in community hematology and oncology practice with a focus on specialty areas of care.
• Utilize EPIC and Beacon EMR systems for patient management.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
• Board certification in Hematology and/or Oncology.
• Valid medical license to practice in Washington State.
• Experience in a multi-specialty medical center is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Fellowship training in a subspecialty of hematology or oncology.
• Experience with EPIC and Beacon EMR systems.
• Interest in developing non-clinical interests within medicine.
