About The Position

MercyOne Waterloo Cancer Center is the only comprehensive, accredited, and multidisciplinary cancer treatment center serving 10 counties. The center offers a range of services including radiation oncology, radiation therapy, and an infusion clinic, all with on-site pharmacy and pharmacist support. It participates in cooperative clinical trials and hosts weekly tumor boards, ensuring a collaborative approach to patient care. The facility features private infusion suites and a 13-chair infusion center staffed by chemo-certified nurses, providing 36 patient contact hours per week. The cancer center is part of a larger 366-bed hospital that serves approximately 280,000 residents across 8 counties. A hospitalist team is in place to handle admissions, allowing for a streamlined patient experience. The center is accredited by the Commission on Cancer (CoC) and the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC). It is also an H-1B cap exempt organization and accepts J-1 candidates.
