About the position

Realm Business & Tax Advisory is a growing, tech-forward accounting firm located in Hermosa Beach, CA, specializing in tax planning, bookkeeping, and CFO services for startups and small to medium-sized businesses. We are currently hiring for multiple roles, including Senior Tax Manager/Reviewer, Tax Preparer, and Accounts Receivable positions. Our firm serves a diverse clientele, including individuals, S Corporations, Partnerships, Exempt Organizations, and Fiduciaries. We are looking for in-person or hybrid accounting talent who can commit to a full-time schedule of 40 hours per week, with the expectation of approximately 50-60 hours during the tax season. The Senior Tax Manager/Reviewer role requires a Senior Level CPA who will manage large and complex client groups, including restaurants, real estate developers, and high-net-worth individuals with multiple K-1s. This position involves reviewing the work of other accountants and providing coaching and support to help team members grow. The Accounts Receivable role is a full-time, on-site position that involves managing accounts receivable, processing invoices, reconciling payments, and providing administrative support to the accounting and tax planning team. This position is crucial for supporting the financial operations of the company and requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel and Word. The successful candidate will interact with customers, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in billing processes while maintaining positive customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Manage large, complex client groups including restaurants, real estate developers, and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Review the work of other accountants and provide coaching and support.
  • Manage accounts receivable by invoicing clients accurately and promptly.
  • Monitor and follow up on outstanding customer payments.
  • Reconcile accounts to ensure they are up-to-date and accurate.
  • Generate and review invoices to ensure they are accurate and complete.
  • Address billing inquiries and resolve any billing discrepancies.
  • Provide general administrative support to the office, managing emails and filing systems.
  • Interact with customers professionally to address billing and payment-related inquiries.

Requirements

  • Senior Level CPA with experience in CA tax code and tax planning for small business owners.
  • Generalist tax experience or niche experience in Real Estate/Partnerships.
  • Experience working with small and medium businesses and startups.
  • Experience at a top accounting firm (not necessarily Big 4).
  • Strong communication skills and a genuine enjoyment of client interaction.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with modern tax management software such as Canopy.
  • Motivated by bonus potential and profit sharing.
  • Candidates from under-represented groups are preferred but not required.
