About the position

Ecovative Energy Inc. is seeking a Certified HERS Rater to join their building science and sustainability consulting team. This full-time position involves administering, guiding, and verifying construction projects to achieve high performance building certifications. The role requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage their own schedule while effectively communicating with project teams and utilizing technology for testing and verification processes.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible care and security of testing equipment and company property.
  • Communication with project teams for coordination of site visits.
  • Optimization of your weekly schedule to ensure peak efficiency in the deployment of your skills/services.
  • Responsible transportation of yourself and equipment to/from project sites.
  • Deployment and use of test equipment, requiring physical fitness.
  • Use of software and proficiency with technology, working exclusively on mobile devices.
  • Professional and courteous communication in relaying details and improvements.
  • Follow-up with applicable project or company team members to ensure continuity and accountability.
  • Track your drive time, site time, and miles.
  • Complete training, testing, and continuing education as required for certifications.
  • Provide a weekly highlight of your most interesting moment(s) at work.
  • Perform weekly outreach and participation with applicable organizations impacting building performance and sustainability.
  • Maintain working knowledge of applicable standards and codes.
  • Communicate openly with the rest of the team your thoughts, ideas, concerns, and questions.

Requirements

  • Building or sustainability related past experience (knowledge of construction, techniques, and procedures).
  • Certified HERS Rater or RFI credentials.
  • Proficiency with mobile technology (iPad, phone, text, email, spreadsheets, word processing, digital calendar, etc.).
  • Excellence with verbal and written communication (in-person, on the phone, and written reports).
  • Pro-active relationship builder/maintainer.
  • Passion for the betterment of buildings, people, and the planet.
  • Reliable transportation (reimbursement for miles during probationary period).
  • Clean driving record (company vehicle provided after probationary period).
  • Physically fit (comfortable carrying heavy equipment, climbing ladders, crawling through tight spaces, working in varying conditions).
  • Honest and ethical.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Flexible and comfortable with changes to duties, responsibilities, and schedule.
