About the position

The Research Engineer position at Hewlett Packard Labs focuses on ReRAM/CMOS integration and materials processing. The role is designed for onsite work, primarily at HPE offices, and involves driving the development of hybrid CMOS/memristor systems for in-memory computing applications. The successful candidate will engage in a range of activities from process development to device testing, contributing to innovative solutions that meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Drive CMOS/memristor (RRAM) BEOL integration and process development.
  • Develop packaging process steps for hybrid CMOS/RRAM systems.
  • Engage with external vendors for RRAM device testing and materials tuning.
  • Operate existing hardware platforms and conduct device modeling.
  • Collaborate with research teams and external partners to align with HPE's innovation community.

Requirements

  • PhD in Materials Science Engineering, Applied Physics, Computer Engineering, or related area.
  • Experience working in a research cleanroom with common cleanroom tools and chemicals.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with emerging memories (RRAM, PCM, MRAM, FeFET, etc.).
  • Experience in thin film characterization and electrical characterization.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor processing and metal oxide materials.
  • Experience with sputter, e-beam evaporation, dry and wet etch, photo lithography, e-beam lithography, AFM, SEM.
