About the position

Maxim Healthcare Services is seeking a Home Health Aide (HHA) to provide essential personal care services to patients in Merrick, New York. The role focuses on assisting patients with daily living activities and ensuring their safety and comfort while adhering to their individual care plans. Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal care tasks such as bathing, oral hygiene, dressing, toileting, and feeding.
• Take and record vital signs including temperatures, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure as ordered.
• Utilize safe transfer and ambulation techniques to assist patients.
• Implement exercise routines according to the patient's care plan.
• Perform range of motion exercises and other simple procedures as directed.
• Handle patients' laundry and maintain cleanliness in their living environment.
• Ensure patient safety by using equipment properly and recognizing emergency situations.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Document patient conditions and report any changes to the assigned nurse supervisor.

Requirements

• Meet all training requirements in accordance with state and federal laws.
• Ability to read, follow written instructions, and document care provided.
• Current CPR certification as per state regulations.
• PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Successful completion of Maxim screening examinations.
• Participation in Maxim's competency program.
• Compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements.
