About the position

The position at Vail Health is a PRN (as needed) role focused on patient registration and administrative support across clinics from Vail to Gypsum. The role involves managing patient admissions, verifying insurance information, and performing various clerical tasks to ensure a smooth patient experience. The candidate will be responsible for effective communication with patients and other parties, maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations, and supporting the overall operations of the healthcare facility.

Responsibilities

  • Registers patients and performs all registration-related functions, including obtaining necessary consents and authorizations.
  • Collects financial paperwork and co-payments as required.
  • Communicates effectively with patients to assist in access to care, answering inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Resolves non-clinical questions while providing excellent customer service.
  • Performs documentation audits for medical necessity and plan of care using computer-based systems.
  • Schedules appointments for procedures and educates patients on pre-exam and post-exam requirements.
  • Organizes and distributes patient reminders, results, and recall letters.
  • Maintains patient files and scans medical records in an organized manner.
  • Manages incoming office correspondence and forwards queries to appropriate staff.
  • Monitors and orders front desk supply inventory to ensure cost-effective spending.
  • Attends departmental staff meetings and provides feedback.
  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA, EMTLA, and Joint Commission requirements.

Requirements

  • Customer service and clerical experience required.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain necessary computer skills within 90 days.
  • Working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking.
