Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a High Performance Computing Technical Support Consultant with a DOE Q Clearance for an on-site position in Livermore, CA. This role involves providing technology consulting to external customers and internal project teams, ensuring customer satisfaction through effective relationship management. The consultant will maintain knowledge of leading-edge technologies and contribute to the company's solutions portfolio. Responsibilities include maintaining HPC systems availability, managing software issues, and providing technical support for customer inquiries. The position requires a strong understanding of complex business issues and the ability to lead and mentor others.

  • Maintain the HPC systems availability to the customer, creating and documenting site procedures, system diagrams, and other configuration or support documents.
  • Maintain system software and firmware revisions, including patches, updates, and OS upgrades.
  • Solve system hardware, software, and third-party software issues, providing detailed analysis of problems and solutions.
  • Gather data, perform analysis, and escalate problems to higher-level product support groups and management when necessary.
  • Provide solutions and implement repairs or workarounds, documenting steps taken as required.
  • Manage software issues for both the system and user applications, submitting and tracking bugs as required.
  • Answer customer inquiries concerning system software versions, product lifecycles, new releases, and third-party applications.
  • DOE Q Clearance required.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience with Linux operating systems (RHEL or SLES), workload management systems, parallel file systems, networking, and security.
  • Ability to lead and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Direct experience and demonstrated proficiency with multiple programming and scripting languages (e.g., Perl, Python, C, FORTRAN).
  • Ability to maintain system software, utilizing debugging tools for problem isolation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer relations, and problem management skills.
