High Pressure Boiler Operator

About the position

The Boiler Operator-High Pressure at Boeing is responsible for operating and maintaining high pressure steam boilers and associated equipment. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards, and providing instruction to other employees. The position is critical for maintaining efficient heating systems and requires adherence to company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain high pressure steam generating equipment for heating, hot water, and processing.
• Perform systematic checks of combustion-control systems and water-feed regulators.
• Make repairs, dismantle, clean, and reassemble burners as needed.
• Tend to auxiliary equipment and adjust steam pressure, fuel-air ratio, and water levels.
• Ensure economical operation of the heating system by making necessary adjustments to CO2 readings, stack temperatures, and flue gas quality.
• Order and maintain supply or replacement parts, complete work orders, and maintain records as required.
• Provide instruction to employees designated to assist with the above duties.
• Perform work in accordance with oral and written instructions from management and in conformance with company standards of safety, workmanship, and good housekeeping practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years' experience in the operation and preventative maintenance of high pressure boiler systems.
• Ability to work any shift as assigned.
• Must be able to obtain a Philadelphia Stationary Engineers Class A or equivalent certification within 6 months of moving into this position.
