About the position

The High-Rise Assistant Community Manager at Hines plays a crucial role in supporting the Community Manager in overseeing the financial and operational aspects of a multifamily community. This position involves a variety of responsibilities including accounting, bookkeeping, resident relations, and operational management, ensuring the community runs smoothly and efficiently while maximizing revenue and resident satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Completes daily transactions related to the financial operation of the community by collecting and posting rent, fees, and other payments.
  • Prepares daily bank deposits and reconciles bank accounts.
  • Prepares financial reports and processes invoices and payables.
  • Reviews resident files and accounting records, communicates with residents regarding outstanding balances, and implements procedures for collecting on delinquencies.
  • Adheres to established procedures related to evictions and represents the community in court hearings as required.
  • Reviews and submits invoices from vendors and contractors for payment.
  • Processes resident move-outs by reviewing lease terms and notice requirements.
  • Promotes resident satisfaction and retention by responding to complaints and service issues in a timely manner.
  • Acts as the on-site supervisor in the absence of the community manager, organizing and delegating daily work.
  • Assists in managing the client/owner relationship by conducting community tours and providing updates on performance.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Two or more years of prior experience in property management or a related industry preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with Entrata is a plus.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
