About the position

The High School English Language Development Teacher at Rocky Mountain Prep is responsible for fostering a supportive and rigorous learning environment for students, particularly those from historically marginalized communities. This role emphasizes the importance of data-driven instruction and collaboration with colleagues to ensure student growth and success. The teacher will implement a high-quality curriculum, engage in professional development, and contribute to a positive school culture focused on student achievement.

Responsibilities

  • Use high-quality curriculum and data systems to drive scholar growth and proficiency.
  • Collect, enter, and analyze academic data to provide targeted instruction and interventions.
  • Build a strong classroom culture with predictable routines and proactive practices.
  • Cultivate a healthy working environment focused on students.
  • Collaborate and communicate regularly with teammates, parents, and administrators.
  • Attend professional development sessions for feedback and coaching.
  • Plan, prep, and internalize lessons to maximize class time and student learning.
  • Model PEAK values of Perseverance, Excellence, Adventure, and Kindness.
  • Demonstrate a results-oriented mindset and commitment to driving school goals.
  • Assist with arrival and dismissal duties and other school community tasks.
  • Collaborate with Special Education teachers to ensure appropriate academic support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's and/or master's degree in any subject.
  • Completion of CDE READ Act training and/or CDE Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CLD) 45 contact hours.
  • Pass a background check.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Current Colorado teaching license with elementary education endorsement or an official transcript demonstrating a degree in elementary education.

Nice-to-haves

  • Minimum two years of lead teaching experience.
  • Experience with progress monitoring, data collection, and analysis.
  • Knowledge of culturally responsive instruction and critical pedagogical framework.
  • Demonstrated success working with scholars from historically marginalized communities.
