About the position

The High School Math Teacher position at Guidepost Academy is a full-time, remote role focused on delivering a Montessori-inspired math curriculum to students from Algebra 1 through Calculus. The teacher will facilitate student learning through individualized coaching, feedback, and interdisciplinary projects, while fostering a supportive community that aligns with the school's core values. This role emphasizes the importance of student agency and self-directed learning, aiming to create a vibrant educational environment that encourages personal and academic growth.

Responsibilities

• Work with GPA program experts to apply and individualize the math curriculum for your classroom.
• Facilitate student progression through the math coursework through regular feedback and assessment.
• Provide 1:1 coaching to a cohort of students, investing in their personal, academic, and social development.
• Establish and model a strong, supportive community that upholds GPA's core values.
• Collaborate with colleagues to continually improve the program and support students.
• Partner with parents to ensure students are fully supported at home and at school.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics or a related field.
• Demonstrated passion for math, preferably with an advanced degree or professional experience in a math-related career.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience mentoring, coaching, or advising adolescents.
• Commitment to the pursuit of truth and student development.
