About the position
The High School Math Teacher position at Guidepost Montessori is a full-time, remote role focused on delivering a personalized and engaging math curriculum to students from Algebra 1 through Calculus. The teacher will work collaboratively with program experts to individualize the curriculum, provide regular feedback, and support students' academic and personal development in a Montessori-inspired environment that emphasizes student agency and self-direction.
Responsibilities
- Apply and individualize the math curriculum for students from Algebra 1 through Calculus.
- Facilitate student progression through math coursework with regular feedback and assessment.
- Provide 1:1 coaching to a cohort of students, focusing on their personal, academic, and social development.
- Establish and model a supportive community that upholds the school's core values.
- Collaborate with colleagues to improve the program and support students.
- Partner with parents to ensure comprehensive support for students.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related field.
- Demonstrated passion for math, preferably with an advanced degree or professional experience in a math-related career.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience mentoring, coaching, or advising adolescents.
