About the position

The High School Math Teacher is a remote position responsible for delivering engaging and personalized math instruction to students in an online environment. The teacher will support students' individual learning needs, monitor their progress, and maintain communication with students and their families. This role requires a commitment to fostering a positive learning experience and adapting teaching methods to meet diverse student needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
• Commit to personalizing learning for all students.
• Demonstrate a belief in all students' ability to succeed and meet high expectations.
• Differentiate instruction based on student level of mastery.
• Augment course content according to prescribed policies and procedures using appropriate tools under guidance from principal and coach.
• Maintain grade book ensuring student academic integrity and alert administrators to concerns about student performance.
• Prepare students for high stakes standardized tests.
• Establish and maintain positive rapport with families and communicate regularly with students and learning coaches.
• Support learning coaches/parents with curricular and instructional issues in a virtual classroom environment.
• Travel as required for professional development and student testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education or related field.
• Active state teaching license (New Mexico Math Teaching Certification).
• Ability to clear required background check.

• Experience teaching in an online (virtual) and/or brick-and-mortar environment.
• Experience with online learning platforms.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers to interpret and produce student data.
• Receptive to receiving coaching regularly with administrators and teacher trainers.
• Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint.
• Ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching platforms.
