About the position

The High School Math Teacher at Calvary Chapel Academy is responsible for fostering a loving and educational environment that promotes the overall development of students as mature and responsible Christians. The teacher will implement the curriculum, engage students through various instructional methods, and integrate biblical principles into the learning process. This role emphasizes the importance of academic excellence while nurturing students' spiritual growth.

Responsibilities

• Teach classes as assigned following the curriculum and prescribed scope and sequence.
• Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
• Employ a variety of instructional aids, methods, and materials for creative teaching.
• Use homework effectively for drill, review, enrichment, or project work.
• Maintain regular and accurate attendance and grade records.
• Know the procedures for dealing with emergency issues.
• Maintain discipline in the classroom and on school premises.
• Prepare adequate information and materials for substitute teachers.
• Reflect the purpose of the school in every class and activity.
• Integrate biblical principles throughout the curriculum and activities.
• Plan the balanced classroom use of field trips and guest speakers.
• Keep all students' personal and medical information confidential.
• Attend and participate in scheduled meetings and events.
• Supervise extracurricular activities and organizations as assigned.

Requirements

• Hold a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited postsecondary institution in a related field.
• Hold a minimum of an ACSI temporary teacher certification or be willing to obtain it.
• 5 years of teaching experience preferred, but not required.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Publisher, etc.).
• Possess good verbal and written communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in Christian education or a similar environment.
• Familiarity with integrating biblical principles into teaching.
