About the position

The Teacher position at Ohio Digital Learning School (ODLS) is a full-time role for a highly qualified, state-certified educator responsible for delivering online course content, particularly in High School Math. The role emphasizes individualized instruction, student engagement, and collaboration with families to foster a supportive learning environment. Teachers are expected to manage the learning process, monitor student progress, and communicate effectively with students and parents to ensure academic success.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of students' academic progress and attendance, communicating high expectations and showing active interest in students' achievement.
• Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests.
• Conduct live synchronous teaching for a minimum of 15 hours per week.
• Provide asynchronous support, including composing emails, planning course objectives, and preparing learning plans based on data-driven insights.
• Collaborate with colleagues regarding instruction, resources, interventions, and data related to student needs and professional development.
• Augment course content according to prescribed policies and procedures using appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools under guidance from the school administrative team.
• Submit grades and required student work, ensuring academic honesty and integrity; maintain a grade book and generate reports regarding student progress.

Requirements

• State certification as a teacher in the relevant subject area.
• Experience in online teaching or education.
• Strong communication skills to engage with students and parents effectively.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, typically 40+ hours per week.
