About the position
The High School Math Teacher is a state-certified educator responsible for delivering engaging and personalized math instruction in an online environment. This role involves managing the learning process, monitoring student progress, and collaborating with students and their families to support educational goals. The teacher will work primarily from home but will need to travel occasionally for professional development and school events.
Responsibilities
- Provides rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students
- Commits to personalizing learning for all students
- Demonstrates a belief in all students' ability to succeed and meet high expectations
- Differentiates instruction based on student level of mastery
- Augments course content according to prescribed policies and procedures using appropriate asynchronous and synchronous tools
- Maintains grade book ensuring student academic integrity and alerts administrators to concerns about student performance
- Prepares students for high stakes standardized tests
- Establishes and maintains positive rapport with families and communicates regularly with students and learning coaches
- Supports learning coaches/parents with student curricular and instructional issues
- Travels as required for face-to-face professional development and student testing
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Active state teaching license
- Ability to clear required background check
