About the position

The Wattsburg Area School District is seeking a dedicated Long-term Substitute Science Teacher to cover from October 2024 through February 2025. This full-time position involves teaching science to students, engaging them through effective lesson design and assessment, and maintaining communication with parents regarding student progress.

Responsibilities

• Teaches assigned students/classes the approved curriculum.
• Engages students actively and meaningfully through lesson design, instruction, and assessment.
• Identifies and implements appropriate instructional practices and methods to meet students' varying ability levels.
• Uses an appropriate variety and number of assessments to determine student academic progress.
• Provides written feedback to students on assessed material on a regular basis.
• Implements the IEP requirements of special needs students.
• Establishes communication with parents through a variety of means to inform them of academic and behavioral progress and achievement.
• Maintains accurate and complete records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations.
• Maintains confidentiality with student information.

Requirements

• Certified science teacher or bachelor's degree in a science related field.
• Strong organizational skills.
