About the position
The High School Social Studies Teacher position at Edmonds eLearning Academy is a full-time, non-continuing leave replacement role, beginning December 16, 2024, and ending April 4, 2025. The teacher will engage and support high school students in an online learning environment, promoting student autonomy and interaction. Candidates with ELL, ESOL, or Bilingual endorsements are preferred, and training in SIOP and GLAD methodologies will be required for new hires. The role involves both on-site and remote work, utilizing various educational technologies and systems.
Responsibilities
- Teach high school social studies curriculum to students in an online learning environment.
- Create engaging lesson plans that promote student autonomy and interaction.
- Utilize technology systems such as Skyward Qmlativ, Maestro, and Edgenuity for instructional purposes.
- Provide support for both virtual and in-person learning as needed.
- Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
Requirements
- Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with a Social Studies endorsement or the ability to obtain one prior to the start date.
- Experience working with high school students.
- Ability to complete SIOP and GLAD training within the first year of employment.
