Responsibilities

  • Prepare, internalize, and plan daily lessons aligned with Valor's Spanish curriculum.
  • Collaborate with EL and Special Education teachers to accommodate grade-level content for all students.
  • Prepare materials for class activities, do nows, exit tickets, and homework assignments.
  • Implement assessments to measure progress towards academic standards and identify learning gaps.
  • Collect, enter, and analyze academic data to provide targeted instruction and interventions.
  • Engage in weekly 1:1 coaching meetings to deepen content expertise and develop instructional mastery.
  • Submit lesson plans weekly for feedback and review by instructional coach.
  • Participate in weekly collaborative curriculum meetings with a planning partner and instructional leader.
  • Update scholar gradebook and communicate academic progress with parents/guardians and other stakeholders.
  • Facilitate student Circles weekly to guide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth.
  • Implement various SEL activities and lessons during structured mentor time.
  • Respond to students' behavior using school-wide intervention systems and classroom management practices.
  • Track and input student behavior feedback through Kickboard by the daily deadline.
  • Serve as the main point-of-contact for families regarding student-specific information.
  • Participate in school events outside of normal hours, such as parent-teacher conferences and student trips.
  • Support students' postsecondary planning and college admission processes.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development, including faculty training and weekly learning sessions.

Requirements

  • Active Tennessee teaching license with an endorsement in Spanish 6-12.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.
