About the position
The High School Spanish Teacher at Stride, Inc. is responsible for delivering engaging online Spanish instruction to high school students. This role involves building relationships with students, families, and learning coaches to ensure student success and progress through the curriculum. The teacher will work primarily from home, providing personalized learning experiences and monitoring student performance through the learning management system. The position requires occasional travel for school functions such as state testing.
Responsibilities
- Provide rich and engaging synchronous and asynchronous learning experiences for students.
- Commit to personalizing learning for all students.
- Demonstrate a belief in all students' ability to succeed and meet high expectations.
- Differentiate instruction based on student level of mastery.
- Augment course content according to prescribed policies and procedures using appropriate tools under guidance from principal and coach.
- Maintain grade book ensuring student academic integrity and alert administrators to concerns about student performance.
- Prepare students for high stakes standardized tests.
- Establish and maintain positive rapport with families and regularly communicate with students and learning coaches.
- Support learning coaches/parents with student curricular and instructional issues in a virtual classroom environment.
- Travel as required for professional development and student testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Active state teaching license
- Ability to clear required background check

- Experience teaching in an online (virtual) and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment
- Experience with online learning platforms
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers
- Receptive to receiving coaching regularly with administrators and teacher trainers
- Ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
