About the position

The High School Spanish Teacher will be responsible for instructing students in Spanish language skills, contributing to their educational development while adhering to the required curriculum as adopted by the Board of Education. This role involves teaching citizenship and basic subject matter as specified in state law and the administrative regulations and procedures of the school district. The teacher will translate lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences and communicate regularly with parents outside of the normal classroom day through newsletters, notes, phone calls, and conferences. Evaluating student academic and social growth is a key responsibility, along with keeping appropriate records and preparing progress reports. The teacher will also identify student needs, make appropriate referrals, and develop strategies for individual education plans. The ideal candidate will be highly qualified to teach high school students across all grade levels and will be well-versed in best practice instruction methods. They should possess expertise in differentiated learning and have a strong passion for teaching and learning. The ability to form positive relationships with colleagues, students, and parents is essential, as is the capability to deliver high-quality lessons focused on student growth and state standards. Additionally, the teacher should be able to analyze student achievement data and utilize it for lesson design and delivery in the classroom.

Requirements
