The High School Special Education Teacher is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing educational programs tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with special educational requirements. This role involves establishing both short and long-term goals that align with the overarching philosophy of the school system, as outlined in curriculum guides and other educational resources. The teacher will employ various instructional methods and materials to achieve these objectives, with flexibility to adapt practices as necessary to cater to individual student needs. Additionally, the teacher will serve as a resource for various curriculum areas, ensuring that all students receive the support they need to thrive academically and socially. In terms of classroom organization and management, the teacher will create a learning environment that fosters positive self-concept and encourages student engagement.
