About the position

The High School Mathematics Teacher is responsible for instructing students in mathematics, utilizing various teaching methods and strategies to enhance learning. This role involves planning and implementing lessons, assessing student progress, and maintaining classroom discipline. The teacher will also engage with parents and participate in professional development activities.

Responsibilities

• Instructs students using various teaching methods such as lecture, audiovisual aids, and demonstrations.
• Assigns lessons and corrects homework; administers tests to evaluate students' progress.
• Records results and issues reports to inform parents of student progress.
• Maintains discipline in the classroom and supervises behavior outside the classroom.
• Prepares course outlines and objectives according to curriculum guidelines.
• Conducts parent/teacher conferences to review student progress and behavior problems.
• Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
• Performs all other duties as assigned to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher required.
• Minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience preferred.
• Certification by the State of Georgia in Education T-4 to T-7 and content area specialization as required by the GaPSC.
