About The Position

Idaho Power Company is seeking a High-Step Apprentice Lineworker to join its Transmission and Distribution (T&D) Construction crews. This role is essential for performing construction and maintenance work on overhead and underground transmission and distribution lines, contributing to the reliable and affordable energy services provided to communities across Idaho and Oregon.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• More than 4,680 hours of documented on-the-job training (OJT) as part of a U.S. Department of Labor recognized apprenticeship program.
• Successful completion of coursework demonstrating knowledge in equipment operations, climbing skills, rigging, rubber gloving, hot sticks, and transformer connections.
• Valid Class A CDL with an acceptable driving record.
• Valid Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Card or ability to obtain prior to hire.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of lines core processes of new business operations, emergency response, and unplanned maintenance.
• Familiarity with construction methods, materials, standards, and equipment.
• Skills in using personal computers and Microsoft products.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction and maintenance work on overhead and underground transmission and distribution lines.
• Work as a member of a line crew, ensuring safety and efficiency in operations.
• Read and understand construction drawings, diagrams, and maps.
• Establish positive working relationships with team members and leadership.
• Travel for 8 days around the IPC Service Territories and have 6 consecutive days off.
• Work overtime when needed and respond to emergencies outside of normal working hours.
