About the position
The High Voltage Utility Estimator is responsible for reviewing project specifications, drawings, and documentation to accurately estimate costs for various electrical construction projects, including overhead and underground transmission, substation construction, and distribution projects. This role requires strong communication skills to present estimated costs to project teams and leadership, as well as prior experience in high voltage electrical construction or civil work.
Responsibilities
- Review project specifications, drawings, and documentation to understand project requirements.
- Estimate costs for overhead and underground transmission projects.
- Estimate costs for substation construction projects.
- Estimate costs for overhead and underground distribution projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field; OR a High School Diploma with 6-10 years of relevant estimating experience.
- Ability to read project diagrams and construction drawings.
- Strong communication skills to present estimated costs to project teams and leadership.
- Prior estimating experience in high voltage electrical construction and/or civil work construction.
- Experience using estimating software such as InEight, WinEst, Accubid, Sage, Timberline or equivalent.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience.
