About the position

The Inpatient Therapist at Highland Springs, operated jointly with Lifepoint Behavioral Health and Springstone, is responsible for providing compassionate behavioral health services, including crisis stabilization, inpatient care, and outpatient treatment for acute mental health and substance use disorders. The role emphasizes a patient-centric approach, utilizing evidence-based therapies to meet individual patient needs and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure superior outcomes for patients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychotherapy and counseling therapies to patients suffering from psychiatric and substance abuse disorders, including group, individual, and family therapy.
  • Ensure accurate and timely patient documentation.
  • Communicate actively with clients, families, and outside referral sources while adhering to HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations.
  • Participate in treatment planning for patients, revising goals as necessary and documenting progress.
  • Collaborate consistently with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians and nursing staff, to enhance patient care.
  • Work with the utilization review department to communicate on length of stay and treatment of patients.
  • Create thorough discharge plans that meet clients' aftercare needs and ensure timely provision of necessary paperwork.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy, or a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work with relevant licensure (LPC, LPCC, LISW, LSW, MH/CD, LMSW, LMFT).
  • Current unencumbered state licensure per state requirements.
  • CPR and CPI Certification within 30 days of employment and prior to patient contact.
  • Prior work experience with psychiatric and chemical dependency patients.
