About the position

The Outpatient Therapist - PRN position at Highland Springs, operated jointly with Lifepoint Behavioral Health and Springstone, focuses on providing compassionate behavioral health services, including crisis stabilization, inpatient care, and outpatient treatment for acute mental health and substance use disorders. The role emphasizes a patient-centric approach, utilizing evidence-based therapies to meet individual patient needs and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to ensure superior outcomes for patients and their families.

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychotherapy and counseling therapies to patients suffering from psychiatric and substance abuse disorders, including group, individual, and family therapy.
  • Ensure accurate and timely patient documentation.
  • Communicate actively with clients, families, and outside referral sources, adhering to HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations.
  • Participate in treatment planning for patients, documenting progress and revising treatment plans as necessary.
  • Collaborate consistently with the interdisciplinary team, including physicians and nursing staff.
  • Work with the utilization review department to communicate on length of stay and treatment of patients.
  • Create thorough discharge plans that meet clients' aftercare needs.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy, or Bachelor's Degree in Social Work with relevant licensure (LPC, LPCC, LISW, LSW, MH/CD, LMSW, LMFT).
  • Current unencumbered state licensure per state requirements.
  • CPR and CPI Certification within 30 days of employment and prior to patient contact.
  • Prior work experience with psychiatric and chemical dependency patients.
