The Data Center Technician I plays a crucial role in maintaining the operational excellence and cleanliness standards of our controlled environments. This position is not only about keeping areas visually clean but ensuring that all surfaces, including ceilings, walls, equipment, and floors, are meticulously maintained to meet the strict guidelines of cleanliness required in a data center setting. The technician will perform cleaning operations under strict guidelines and continually monitor the cleaning procedures to ensure all cleanings are completed promptly and correctly. In addition to cleaning, the technician is responsible for participating in continuous training related to data center operations, technical skills, safety, and performance improvement. Normal duties include micro-cleaning all surfaces within the general and critical environment, following customer standard operating procedures in precise detail, and identifying deviations in cleaning to follow through on corrective and preventative actions. The technician will also assist in the cross-training of other Controlled Contamination Services personnel and perform all other duties as defined by the supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cleaning operations under strict guidelines.
  • Monitor cleaning procedures to ensure all cleanings are completed promptly and correctly.
  • Participate in continuous training: Data Center, technical skills, safety, performance improvement.
  • Micro-clean all surfaces within the general & critical environment including ceilings, walls, equipment, and floors.
  • Follow customer standard operating procedures in precise detail including documentation.
  • Identify deviations in cleaning and follow through on corrective and preventative actions (variances).
  • Review changes to SOP/SOW documentation and re-train.
  • Assist in the cross-training of other Controlled Contamination Services personnel.
  • Perform all other duties as defined by supervisor.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Must have and be able to consistently apply communication skills, customer service skills, initiative skills, and problem-solving skills.
