About the position

The Highway, Bridge, Traffic Design Lead is responsible for overseeing and managing transportation projects in Connecticut, focusing on highway, bridge, and traffic engineering. This role requires extensive experience in project management, technical documentation, and client coordination, ensuring compliance with CTDOT standards and effective communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee or directly manage Connecticut-based transportation projects in highway, bridge, or traffic engineering.
  • Prepare or review calculations, plans, cost estimates, and technical reports.
  • Summarize collected data and assemble reports.
  • Manage effective communication and coordination with clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in transportation engineering (highway, bridge, or traffic).
  • Connecticut P.E. license required.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation; strong knowledge of CTDOT standards.
  • Proven ability to lead a team of engineers and designers.
  • Proficiency in English for reading, writing, and understanding plans and instructions.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean MVR.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience using SharePoint and Microsoft Teams for collaboration.
