About the position

As a Highway Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing maintenance operations and a variety of tasks related to routine asset maintenance activities. This role is crucial in ensuring that the services provided meet high-quality standards set forth by clients, while also offering a rewarding career in the asset maintenance industry. The position requires flexibility in work schedules and occasional out-of-town travel, with a focus on maintaining safety and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance operations on highways and related infrastructure.
• Conduct landscape area maintenance including weed control and small machine mowing.
• Trim and remove trees as necessary.
• Clean drainage structures and repair or replace storm drains.
• Remove roadside litter and perform manual sweeping.
• Repair non-paved shoulders, front slopes, and roadside ditches.
• Conduct guardrail maintenance and repair.
• Perform bridge maintenance and repair tasks.
• Carry out asphalt and concrete repairs.
• Replace and install delineators and signs.
• Repair fences and remove graffiti.
• Provide traffic control services as needed.
• Manage and maintain inventory of equipment and materials.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions.
• Experience in highway maintenance principles and practices.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, climbing, and kneeling.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations.

Nice-to-haves

• CDL Driver's License (preferred but not required).
• Experience with operating maintenance equipment.
