About the position

The Highway Program Manager is responsible for managing, overseeing, and coordinating project development efforts on various highway and street projects and programs that are funded by or affect San Francisco. This role involves executing delivery and supporting the planning of significant infrastructure improvement projects, including those on Yerba Buena Island and Treasure Island, in collaboration with the Treasure Island Development Authority (TIDA). The Highway Program Manager will also oversee improvements on Highway 280 in the Balboa Park area and select programs and funding initiatives from the Transportation Authority. In addition to project planning, the Highway Program Manager will conduct project delivery oversight for various highway and street projects. This includes, but is not limited to, the 19th Avenue Improvements, modifications at the Sloat/Skyline intersection, the Better Market Street initiative, and the Quint Connector Road project. The position requires a strong understanding of project management principles and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes. This is a full-time, exempt position that reports directly to the Deputy Director for Capital Projects. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Proven experience in project management, particularly in transportation or infrastructure projects.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
