About the position

The Highway Project Manager/Technical Lead at Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is responsible for leading technical designs and managing a team of engineers and project managers in delivering impactful highway infrastructure and complete streets projects. This role involves client interaction, coordination with multiple disciplines, and acting as a technical advisor to junior engineers, while also contributing to business development and project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical designs for highway infrastructure projects ranging from complete streets to interstate reconstruction.
• Manage all technical resources and coordinate multiple disciplines on the project team.
• Engage in 1-on-1 client interactions and participate in client presentations.
• Manage and coordinate with subconsultants to ensure project success.
• Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, and scopes, and prepare invoices accordingly.
• Prepare project status reports and invoices for clients.
• Develop and maintain project-specific quality plans to ensure high standards.
• Assist in the development of extra work order requests and open-end contract task proposals.
• Coordinate with Section Heads, Office Managers, and Practice Leaders on marketing proposals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited engineering program.
• Professional Engineer License.
• 8+ years of experience in a specialized discipline.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with the City of Philadelphia and/or PennDOT.
• Project management and business development experience.
• Experience with multiple project delivery methods such as Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, and P3.
• Experience managing multidiscipline project teams.
