About the position

The Highway Project Manager/Technical Lead at Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is responsible for leading technical designs and managing a team of engineers on highway infrastructure and complete streets projects. This role involves client interaction, coordination with multiple disciplines, and oversight of project resources, schedules, and budgets. The position is ideal for a career-minded leader looking to contribute to impactful projects while mentoring less experienced engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical designs for highway infrastructure projects.
• Manage all technical resources and coordinate multiple disciplines on the project team.
• Engage in 1-on-1 client interactions and participate in client presentations.
• Manage and coordinate with subconsultants.
• Develop and monitor project schedules, budgets, and scope, and prepare invoices.
• Prepare project status reports and invoices.
• Develop and maintain project-specific quality plans.
• Create extra work order requests and open-end contract task proposals.
• Coordinate with Section Heads, Office Managers, and Practice Leaders on marketing proposals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an ABET accredited engineering program.
• Professional Engineer License.
• 8+ years of experience in a specialized discipline.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with the City of Philadelphia and/or PennDOT.
• Project management and business development experience.
• Experience with multiple project delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3).
• Experience managing multidiscipline project teams.
