About the position

As an HIM Associate I at R1 RCM, Inc., you will be an integral part of the healthcare team at Ascension St. Thomas Midtown Hospital. This full-time, onsite position requires you to work from Sunday through Thursday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Your primary responsibility will be to deliver exceptional customer service to patients, healthcare professionals, and payors while ensuring the utmost confidentiality of all patient information. You will engage in various tasks that include preparing, scanning, and organizing medical record information, which is crucial for maintaining accurate and confidential health records. In this role, you will be expected to retrieve charts from all patient care areas, reconcile, and follow up on any missing documentation. You will also be responsible for prepping, scanning, indexing, and performing quality control validation of all medical records. Data entry will be a significant part of your daily activities, as you will hand-key electronic information into various data systems to keep the information updated for future use and analysis. Additionally, you will update spreadsheets and data systems with current content to ensure accuracy. To succeed in this position, you must be detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about handling sensitive information. Your previous experience in health information management will be beneficial, as it will help you understand the department's operations better.
