About the position

Anchor Hospital, established in 1986, specializes in the treatment of behavioral health and addictive disease disorders for teens, adults, and seniors. Our mental health facility is located on a secluded, 55-acre campus in Atlanta, Georgia, less than three miles from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, and is accredited by the Joint Commission. We are seeking a HIM/Medical Records Clerk to support the medical records department through a variety of clerical, technical, and related support services under the supervision of the Director of Health Information Management. This role involves performing technical and clerical health information department functions in accordance with departmental and facility policies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical and psychiatric terminology, as well as the ability to use medical transcription equipment and word processing software, particularly Microsoft Word. The HIM/Medical Records Clerk will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with health information regulations, and assisting in the management of health information systems. This position requires a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for college graduates. Candidates should have at least two years of experience in Medical Records or Health Information Management, and accreditation by the American Health Information Management Association as an Accredited Record Technician (ART) is preferred. The work environment is of medium demand, requiring extensive sitting, standing, bending, and walking, and the ability to lift up to twenty pounds is necessary.
