About the position

This role also involves assigning deficiencies to medical records and assisting with various departmental activities, including birth certificate coverage and tumor registry assistance. The technician will be expected to provide excellent customer service by assisting callers and visitors, routing them to the appropriate personnel, and fulfilling requests for patient information promptly and accurately. Responsibilities
- Scan and perform quality control on medical records.
- Validate and analyze medical records for accuracy.
- Maintain the flow of incomplete charts to ensure timely completion.
- Prepare charts for the scanning process and ensure accurate quality control.
- Ensure scanned images appear in PowerChart without errors.
- Assign deficiencies to medical records accurately.
- Assist with daily activities in the Health Information Services Department.
- Provide assistance with birth certificate coverage and tumor registry.
- Promptly fulfill requests for patient information from physicians and healthcare facilities.
- Assist callers and department visitors, routing them to appropriate personnel.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is necessary.
- Experience with pharmacy software is preferred.
