About the position

The Assistant Research Professor position with the Department of Immunology & Microbiology at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus is an at-will employment opportunity aimed at candidates with a strong background in human immunology. The role focuses on developing novel computational tools for the robust, reproducible, and rapid analysis of multiplexed images and flow cytometry data. This position is designed to support other Principal Investigators (PIs) in the department and research core labs, ultimately enhancing the quality and quantity of research publications on campus. The individual in this role will report directly to the Chair of the Department of Immunology & Microbiology and the Director of the Human Immune Monitoring Shared Resources core facility. A significant aspect of the position involves training, supervising, and evaluating personnel, including students and research assistants, whose positions are funded by the individual's or collaborator's research grants. Key responsibilities include formulating short- and long-term research goals, applying for grants from federal or private agencies to secure funding, and collaborating with faculty members to develop research grant applications. The individual is also expected to present current research at scientific meetings and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals. Flexibility in the working schedule may be necessary, but there is no requirement for on-call or shift work. The position also offers fee-for-service work through the Human Immune Monitoring Shared Resource cost center to assist local researchers with their data analysis needs.
