About the position

The Bookkeeper/Accounting Professional position at our service company in Houston is a critical role that requires a qualified individual to manage the financial records and transactions of multiple companies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of office principles and demonstrate proficiency in computer software, particularly MS Excel and QuickBooks. This role is set in a fast-paced environment where the ability to resolve issues under pressure is essential. The successful candidate will be thorough, accurate, and honest, with excellent organizational skills to ensure all financial transactions are handled efficiently and effectively. As a Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of financial records, preparing and maintaining accurate financial statements and reports, and performing general ledger accounting. You will also be tasked with reconciling accounts, processing accounts payable and receivable transactions, and maintaining organized records using accounting software. Your role will involve processing invoices, receipts, and payments, ensuring that all bookkeeping is timely and accurate. Additionally, you will reconcile bank statements and prepare financial reports for management, assist with payroll processing, and manage employee records. Administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies will also fall under your responsibilities. You will coordinate with external accountants for tax preparation and audits, and support the team with additional tasks and projects as needed. This position requires a proactive approach and the ability to work collaboratively with others to ensure the financial health of the company.
